Evan Gerstein, Ed.D., brings his extensive experience as a dedicated independent college counselor to Jenna's expanding team. He provides invaluable guidance and support throughout the college admissions process. He is committed to assisting students in managing deadlines, fostering an open-mindedness to college selection, and navigating the college admissions process.
In addition to working with his clients, Evan has completed his Doctorate at Vanderbilt University, with a focus on higher education leadership and policy. He passionately advocates for enhancing access to post-secondary education, viewing college as a pivotal decision in a student’s academic journey. Drawing from his positive experience with an independent counselor during high school, Evan is dedicated to helping students and families make informed choices.
Before joining Jenna’s team, Evan worked as an admissions counselor for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of Michigan for several years, overseeing application reviews for Illinois applicants and parts of Michigan. He later traveled to Nashville, TN, where he got his M.Ed. in Higher Education from Vanderbilt. At the same time, Evan worked as a post-baccalaureate and graduate school admissions coach, helping students apply to graduate school and prestigious scholarships such as Rhodes, Marshall, Truman, and Fulbright! Since his M.Ed., Evan has worked for the Kelley School of Business in graduate student recruitment and admissions, but moved to Chicago, where he currently lives. Evan is an active member of various college counseling organizations, including the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and the Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC).
