Meet Jenna Shulman

The driving force behind Get Me Into College, leading our team with her expertise in college counseling.

Jenna Shulman, founder and owner of Get Me Into College, embarked on her mission over a decade ago, transitioning her passion into a consulting business in August 2015. Since its inception, Jenna and her team of college counselors have successfully guided over 1,500 students from the Tri-State area and beyond to gain admission to their dream colleges nationwide.

One of Jenna's core strengths is her commitment to easing the pressure of navigating the highly competitive college admissions landscape. Students and their families gain confidence in their college planning and selection process through her expertise and guidance.

Jenna's dedication is evident in her extensive campus visits. She has toured over 225 college campuses to ensure a comprehensive understanding of schools nationwide. She strives to provide her clients access to the best available resources by building relationships with admission counselors nationwide.

Before transitioning into college consulting, Jenna built a strong foundation in professional writing and media, graduating from the University of Maryland Philip Merrill College of Journalism. Her career spans roles at leading outlets, including ESPN, CNN, MTV, CBS News, Bleacher Report, and Discovery Channel, where she developed her storytelling skills, industry network, and business insight. She also worked in the admissions office at the University of Maryland and served as a campus tour guide, which gave her an insider perspective on the college admissions process.

Jenna further demonstrates her commitment to professional development through her College Access Counseling Certificate from The Options Institute of New York City and her Independent Educational Consultant Certificate from the University of California, Irvine. She regularly participates in workshops and conferences, maintains membership in various college counseling organizations, including NACAC, NJACAC, and IECA, and stays up to date on the latest trends and best practices. Jenna has also been featured in several news outlets and podcasts, including News 12 New Jersey and PBS.

When Jenna isn’t answering texts, emails, or hopping on Zoom calls with clients, she’s spending time with her husband, Zack, and their two young children, Brayden and Olivia. As a "mom-preneur,” she has embraced motherhood while building her business, which has given her a deeper understanding of the emotions, pressures, and hopes families experience throughout the college process. That perspective shapes everything she does and allows her to support students and parents with both expertise and genuine empathy every step of the way.
